Carmel was ranked no.12 in the top 50 best place to live in America for cities with a population of 65,000 or more by 24/7 Wall Street. They selected communities based on crime rates, employment growth, educational attainment, housing affordability and amenities available. Data was collected from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Census Bureau’s 2012 American Community Survey, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Homefacts, a home area research site and subsidiary of RealtyTrac.

“We are extremely pleased and honored that 24/7 Wall Street recognized Carmel as one of the best places to live in America. Many times, executives notice these lists and are intrigued enough to investigate Carmel as a location for their business. These honors also attract the attention of highly skilled professionals who are looking for a place to work in an area with many recreational and cultural options where they can enjoy life,” said Mayor Jim Brainard.
