Letter: Cover story on religion in Carmel

0

Editor,

I was glad to see this week’s cover story about the diversity of religious communities establishing houses of worship in Carmel. As a pastor in nearby Westfield (New Joy Lutheran Church), a chaplain in the Indiana Army National Guard, and a resident of Carmel, I welcome the growing religious diversity of our community.

I believe that such diversity is a strength, as we cannot help but benefit when people come together across religious and cultural lines to contribute to the wellbeing of our community. This strength is enhanced as we grow in understanding of and appreciation for our neighbors and the  faiths in which they find ultimate meaning.

I look forward to seeing a continued, positive impact of the faith community on Carmel for years to come.
