Free pizza this Friday at Carmel’s newest pizza restaurant

Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza today announced that it will open its second Indianapolis area location, in Carmel, on Thursday, Aug. 21.  To celebrate, the company will offer free build-your-own artisanal pizzas on Aug. 22, between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., to anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.  The new restaurant is at 12697 N. Pennsylvania St., across from the Meijer shopping center.

Blaze Pizza uses an interactive ordering format that allows guests to create their own custom artisanal pizzas at “lightning fast” speed – each for $6.95.  The  11-inch personal pizzas are then sent to a blazing hot open-flame oven — the centerpiece of the restaurant — where dedicated pizzasmiths ensure that the thin-crust pies are “fast-fire’d” in less than 180 seconds.

Each restaurant makes its own dough from scratch using a recipe developed by critically-acclaimed executive chef Brad Kent, which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust.  Blaze Pizza’s menu also features signature salads, fresh lemonades and house-made S’more Pies.  For pizza fans with specific dietary needs, Blaze Pizza offers a gluten-free dough and vegan cheese.

The restaurant features outdoor patio seating, a selection of wine and craft beer, and online ordering.

“The Indianapolis community loves pizza, but they really haven’t had a good way to enjoy a quality pie without the wait,” said Kent.  “Blaze Pizza is all about letting folks enjoy custom-built artisanal pizzas at crazy fast speed.  It’s a concept I’m thrilled to lend my expertise to.”

Kent said Blaze Pizza is looking forward to building strong roots within the Carmel community.  To that end, the company has developed a turn-key in-restaurant fundraiser program that returns 20 percent of an event’s proceeds back to local organizations, and will be partnering with local schools, sports clubs and other organizations to host fundraising events at the new restaurant.

The first Indianapolis-area Blaze Pizza opened in February near IUPUI (at 913 Indiana Ave.), and has  become a favorite gathering spot for both students and local residents.
