Crash update: Ford lost control in Carmel

Yesterday, at approximately 1:56 p.m., Carmel Police responded to 99 East 106th Street in reference to a vehicle into a building. Officers arrived and found one vehicle involved in the crash.

Based on preliminary information, it appears that a maroon 1997 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound Pennsylvania Street at 106th Street. The driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle left the roadway. The Ford Expedition then collided with a brick office building on the southwest corner of the intersection.

The driver of the Ford Expedition succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The female passenger was transported to 86th Street St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition.

Accident reconstructionists from the Carmel Police Department are investigating the crash. 106th Street was temporarily closed between US 31 and Pennsylvania Street.

The occupants of yesterday’s crash have been identified as:

1997 Ford Expedition

Driver: William J. Camblor, 68, of Carmel

Passenger: Sandra L. Grochow, 63, of Carmel
