Opinion: CarmelFest will have plenty for you

It’s all but here, the 2014 edition of CarmelFest, the greatest festival in Indiana. Current in Carmel is a proud platinum sponsor of this annual rite of summer, and (you’ve heard this before) this July 3-4 edition of the event, from what we’ve been told, promises to be bigger and better than ever … if that’s possible. CarmelFest Chairman Jeff Worrell and his all-volunteer team have been toiling at this since the last of the fireworks last July 4 faded into the night sky. To mention that we’re excited for the event’s arrival is an understatement. There truly is something for everyone, and if you’re going to be in town, which we hope will be the case, please join in the fun. From music to the parade to food and vendor options and activities galore for kids of every age; it’s two days of patriotism, community, friends, family and celebration all neatly wrapped into an amazing experience. Do it, because it’s good for you. For more information, see our special section inside today’s edition or visit www.carmelfest.net. We hope to see you there.

Fireworks on the Fourth of July may be discharged legally only between 10 a.m. and midnight. Between the hours of 5 p.m. and midnight, you may play pyrotechnic on July 1, 2 and 3; and July 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. For more information, visit www.carmel.in.gov and query fireworks ordinance.
