I was delighted but also surprised to see the Quote Of The Week for June 17 (“Our culture is competent to implement almost anything and to imagine almost nothing.”) from my good friend and former Old Testament professor, Walter Brueggemann. In fact, Brueggemann’s prophetic words (beyond those quoted) in many books he has written and talks he has given would be quite radical and counter-culture to a Republican-oriented community such as Carmel. My hunch is that you probably would resist many of them. But thanks for including the quote in your paper.
