The water zone in Zionsville’s Mulberry Park won’t be open this weekend

By Sophie Pappas

Folks hoping to beat the Memorial Day heat will have to wait some time before venturing out to Zionsville’s public park space.

The water park area, or spray pad as it is sometimes referred to, of Mulberry Park will not open for the summer season tomorrow, as originally planned.

“The system worked when tested and was fully functional a few weeks ago as a part of our normal preparation for the Memorial Day Weekend opening,” said Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, Matt Dickey. “But when we went to turn on the system this week the…controller was inoperable.”

Replacement parts for the malfunctioning water system have been ordered and Dickey said he is hopeful the area will open soon.
