More than 300 schools statewide earned a four-star award status for the 2012-13 school year. Six of these schools are Zionsville Community School Corporation schools.

Zionsville was the only town to receive four-star recognition in Boone County. However, only Eagle Elementary, Pleasant View Elementary, Stonegate Elementary, Union Elementary, Zionsville High, and Zionsville Middle were recognized.

Zionsville West Middle School and Boone Meadow Elementary did not reach the academic goals in time to receive a four-star status. Schools must perform in the top 25th percentile of ISTEP scores to be considered for a four-star status.

“Winning this award required excellent work by teachers, administrators, students and parents throughout the year, and on behalf of the entire Indiana Department of Education, I send them my sincere congratulations,” said Glenda Ritz, State Supt. of Public Instruction.
