Zionsville Community High School Junior, Shanze Tahir, has been named one of two Indiana Prudential Spirit of Community Award Winners.  As a State Honoree, Tahir will receive a $1,000 award, an engraved silver medallion, and an all expense-paid trip to Washington D.C., for a series of national recognition events, May 3-6.  Tahir is one of 102 honorees being considered for a national award to be announced in May.  If she is selected, she will be presented with a gold medallion, a $5,000 personal award, a $5,000 donation to the charity of her choice, and a crystal trophy to display at ZCHS.

Shanze has been selected to receive this honor for her volunteer advocacy against bullying.  She has organized local events to discuss the topic and has traveled to Washington D.C., where she met with our U.S. senators to discuss the issue.
