Noblesville Police Dept. investigators are working to discover the events that took place on Nov. 26 at Rancho Alegre Mexican Grocery, 723 S. 10th St.

Based on preliminary information, a subject allegedly entered the grocery and displayed an object believed to be a handgun. NPD Spokesman Lt. Bruce Barnes said an undisclosed amount of cash was reported to have been taken as a result of the alleged robbery. No injuries were reported to police officers.

At 6:38 p.m., NPD officers responded to the grocery in reference to a report of a holdup alarm. Barnes said within one minute of the call being dispatched, officers arrived on the scene and found two male subjects in the alley next to the grocery.

“Responding officers reported that one of the subjects fled on foot while the other subject remained. Officers established a perimeter in the area in an attempt to locate the fleeing subject,” Barnes stated. “Officers, along with a K-9 Unit from the Westfield Police Dept., conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the subject. The subject that remained at the scene was transported to the Noblesville Police Dept. for questioning.”

At 9:46 p.m., officers were able to locate the second man that fled from them earlier in the evening and he was brought in for questioning. Barnes said each man was questioned by investigators regarding their possible involvement or knowledge of the robbery.

“Both subjects remain persons of interest in this case at this time,” he stated.

Barnes said Grant A. Boles, 20, of Noblesville was arrested and booked at the Hamilton County Jail on an outstanding warrant out of Hamilton County (Probation Violation).

This case remains an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the NPD Criminal Investigation Division at 776-6340 or [email protected].
