In a joint venture between downtown retailers and Noblesville Main Street, the inaugural “Chocolate Trail” has been created. Shopping and chocolate tasting is 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at downtown merchants and an after party will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. in Urban Park, the alley next to NMS.

“It gets people downtown and to our shops,” Shannon Loomis, owner of Kiln Creations and event chairman, said. “We have planned an exciting evening that is ‘covered in chocolate,’ which includes great shops, special discounts, promotions, prizes, live music, and a fabulous after party at the Urban Park.”

Loomis said “The Chocolate Trail” is modeled after March’s annual Diva Night. The event is free and open to the public.

“Diva Night was so successful to retailers and downtown. This is the fall counterpart and on the same lines,” she said, adding the event is aimed at adults. “We’re all excited. If Diva Night is any indication, it should be a success.”

Participating businesses include: A Corner Cottage, At Home With Valerie, Cindy Goyer Photography, J’Ann & Company, Kiln Creations, Linden Tree, Logan Village Mall, Martha Jane’s, Noblesville Main Street, Old Picket Fence, The Hamilton Restaurant, and Whimzy.

“All shops will have discounts and deals and, of course, chocolate,” Loomis said. “Everybody is going to have a little sampling.”

NMS will host the after party with Chad Mills providing music. European Market vendors will be on hand peddling great chocolate themed products in celebration of chocolate trail. Like Diva Night, guests will receive a brochure and map of participating businesses. After collecting stamps from vendors, guest can enter to win the $250 grand prize, which includes a $25 gift from every participating business. Loomis said a $10 gift card or item from each store will be given away as door prizes. Prizes will be given away at 9 p.m. and you must be in attendance to win.
