We’re proud to announce the coming debut of our first dining guide, Tables, which will detail options in Hamilton and Boone counties and beyond. The first issue, of which we hope will become a quarterly offering, will arrive in homes on Oct. 22. Actually, this wasn’t our idea. Karen Kennedy, who covers the arts and government for us, and who spent more than 20 years owning, managing and promoting restaurants, approached us about it. Brilliant! We said, “Yes” to the idea in a heartbeat.
Karen will head the project. Tables will be a glossy-text, bound, magazine-style publication that will feature ads from area restaurants, along with directory listings which will give readers guidance about the category, location, price and other amenities (outdoor café, brunch service and family friendly, among others) that each restaurant offers. It also will include features on local chefs and anecdotal stories about the restaurant business from an insider’s perspective. We’re excited about the potential of Tables. The markets we serve are comprised of residents with disposable income and with a desire to dine out.
That we go to every home by mail in all the markets we serve provides a powerful “in” for advertising partners. As with our other publications, we relied on independent research before moving ahead. Research has served us quite well for almost seven years, and we’re not going to launch an initiative without it. We feel strongly that if it’s important to the readers, we’ll make sure they get what they want, and the research helps us to do just that. Restaurants interested in advertising in Tables are urged to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 489-4444.
