Activities for June 10-14

 

Art Classes (Zionsville Town Hall, Oak Street-Fireplace Room)

Every Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with instructor Shirley Luttrell in the Fireplace Room.  Cost is $5 per class.  Shirley is happy to work with beginners, intermediate students and any medium; oils, acrylics, watercolors.

 

NEW- Support Group (Zionsville Town Hall, Room 110)

Caring with Cause

2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month (June 11 & 25) 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.    Are you responsible for the wellbeing of another adult?  Whether you are the spouse or the adult child of a senior, as a caregiver you will be offered support through open discussion.  Facilitators Rachel Gerrish, Franciscan Visiting Nurses at St. Francis and Serge Monperous, Peoplefirst Homecare and Hospice will offer engaging and educational presentations to assist caregivers in developing supportive relationships.  The adult being cared for by the caregiver will also be welcome to attend the group.  There will be meaningful activities in which they can participate.

 

Exercise Classes (Zionsville Meadows, Ford Rd)

“Fun & Fit for Over Fifty”, every Thursday, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Zionsville Meadows with instructor Josh Dickey, New Energy Wellness Coordinator.

 

Lunch and Learn

Friday, June 14, noon till 1:00 p.m. in Zionsville Town Hall Community Room.  Please join us for a topic of interest to seniors by Excel Home Health Care.   Lunch, which is free to the first 30 registrants, will be provided by the Hearth at Tudor Gardens. Please contact BCSSI to register.  Zionsville residents in need of transportation must contact BCSSI transportation department at 317-873-8939 or 765-482-5220 and speak to Cindy Elliott or Kate Koehler.

 

NEW–Casino Trip

Rising Star Casino—Tuesday, August 20.

Cost is $35 per person, due at registration.  Trip includes roundtrip motorcoach transportation by Miller Trailways, $5 Casino Cash and $10 slot play. Motorcoach departs from BCSSI* promptly at 8:00 a.m. and will make a scheduled stop at Anson Witham Health Services parking lot in Zionsville at approximately 8:30 a.m. Trip is scheduled to leave the casino at 4:00 p.m.  Contact BCSSI to register.  Registration deadline is August 2nd.

*Motorcoach will be in the Witham Health Services parking lot just south of BCSSI.   Please do not park in the BCSSI parking area.

 

BCSSI Van Trip

Friday, June 14, 10:00 a.m., Strawberry Festival, Crawfordsville.

Van trip attendees must call BCSSI at 765-482-5220 or 317-873-8939 for more information or to sign-up prior to trip departure.  Meet at BCSSI for departure.  Transportation fees and meal costs are the responsibility of the attendee.  Call BCSSI @ 765-482-5220 to schedule personal transportation appointments.
