Springing into volunteering

Volunteers and staff members from the Fishers Parks and Recreation and Hamilton Parks and Recreation ventured out into town for the Spring Into Action Community Volunteer Day April 6.

The town estimated 150 people signed up for the event, which included projects at Billericay Park, Fishers High School, Heritage Park, Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens, Geist Park and Reservoir and litter-clean up along Allisonville Road, 96th Street and I-69, according to Town of Fishers Spokeswoman Maura Leon-Barber.

Leon-Barber said the town planned to have the program return and expand this fall.

A volunteer application is available on www.fishers.in.us in the Parks and Recreation portal under Volunteer.
