Inside damage from fire in the attic

At 4:00 am this morning, lightning struck Zionsville Community High School and ignited a fire in the Team Building. Zionsville Police were first to arrive and saw fire coming through the roof of the building located on the ZCHS campus, 1000 Mulberry St.

Zionsville firefighters were able to extinguishe the fire by 5:20 a.m. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported. Preliminary damage estimates for the building and contents may reach as high as $200,000, according to fire department officials.

Whitestown Fire Dept., Carmel Fire Dept. and Zionsville Police Dept. also assisted. Pike Township Fire Dept. provided fill-in coverage at Zionsville Fire Station 91.
