The Carmel Public Library Foundation held its annual donor recognition event, An Evening of Thanks, last week at the Carmel Public Library. The event featured a reception followed by a library update from Stephanie Fuhrmann, president of the CCPLF board of directors, Wendy Phillips, director of the Carmel Clay Public Library and Jack Stafford, president of the board of trustees. Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream provided desserts and coffee for the event.

The evening’s program, entitled “Mark Twain 100 Years Later” featured Mark Twain himself, played by David Ehlert. Throughout Twain’s presentation, he gave observations on the human condition, recalled his early life and reenacted a portion of “Huckleberry Finn.”
