The Noblesville Parks Dept. and Hare Chevrolet will host the annual free Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at Forest Park, 701 Cicero Rd. Event organizer Erin Hinshaw said the parks department will hide 10,000 eggs Saturday, rain or shine.

“We’ve had rain up until 10 minutes until go time,” she said. “This year we are hoping for no snow.”

Children are invited to come and enjoy lots of fun activities beginning at 10 a.m. at Shelters No. 3 and 5 including a bounce house and DJ. Weather permitting, the Forest Park Carousel will be open and rides will be $2 per child. Hinshaw said a new addition to this year’s activities will be the Noblesville fire truck being displayed by the Noblesville firefighters who will be passing out free child DNA kits.

Of course, the event’s guest of honor will be the Easter Bunny who will be making a special appearance to have pictures taken with boys and girls. The egg hunt for children up to 10-years-old will begin promptly at 11 a.m. Hinshaw said age groups include infants to two-years-old, three- and four-year-olds, five- and six-year-olds and seven- to 10-year-olds.

The hunt is the unofficial kick-off of the parks department season.

“I look forward to the hunt all winter because it ushers in the new season – the bus trips, concert series, movie series and summer camps. Once the Easter egg hunt gets here, the weather eventually has to get good,” Hinshaw said.

Prior to the festivities is a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. hosted by the Noblesville Sunrisers Kiwanis at Forest Park Inn. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and milk. The cost is $5 per person and all proceeds will benefit Riley Hospital for Children. Tickets may be purchased at the breakfast.
