At publication time, one suspect remained on the loose after officers responded to a call of suspicious activity in Carmel’s 200 block of 2nd Avenue last week which led to a vehicle crash and a pursuit on foot.

Around 4 a.m. on March 12, Carmel Police officers responded to a call of suspicious activity when an officer noticed a dark SUV leaving the area. As the officer slowed down to check out the vehicle, it took off at a high speed. The SUV drove to the second level of the parking garage at Range Line Road and City Center Drive, and three people jumped out of the vehicle while it was still moving. The SUV then crashed into the outer wall of the parking garage. Two of the suspects jumped over the wall, and one suspect ran in the opposite direction.

One of the suspects that jumped over the wall hurt his leg and was immediately taken into custody. He was identified as a 17-year-old black male from Indianapolis and was taken to St.Vincent Hospital. Officers set up a perimeter and began a K9 track. A second suspect, Kelsey Robinson, 18, Indianapolis, was located hiding under a vehicle on 3rd Avenue SW.

Robinson was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with resisting law enforcement and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle.

The 17-year-old male was released to his parents at the hospital. Charges will be filled against him through the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

The third suspect was described as a black male in his late teens to early 20’s, approximately 6-feet-tall with a medium build. Police believe his name may be Chris, and he possibly goes by “Little C.”
