At approximately 6 a.m. this morning, Carmel Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Golfview Drive. The victim stated that her 2009 Hyundai Sonata was unlocked and running when it was stolen. Officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of Rangeline Road and 126th Street. The vehicle refused to stop and led officers on a short pursuit that ended on Sleepy Hollow Lane.

The suspect jumped out of the vehicle as it was still moving and ran from the area. The vehicle drove into some landscaping and flipped onto its side. Officers set up a perimeter and began to search for the suspect with a K9. While officers were searching the area, a witness called in and stated there was a subject lying in his backyard. Officers headed to that location, and the suspect was apprehended by the K9.

The suspect was identified as a 14 year old male from Indianapolis. He was transported to IU North Hospital with minor injuries.
