At approximately 3:15 a.m. this morning, Carmel Police Officers responded to 10045 Cedar Ridge on a threat to life report. The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend, Aaron David a 25-year-old white male from Indianapolis, called and stated that he was going to kill her and her current boyfriend. As officers were taking the report a vehicle matching the description of David’s vehicle was observed in the area. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however David refused to stop. After a short pursuit he exited his vehicle and began walking down the street. Officers ordered him to stop, but he ignored them and continued to walk away.

David walked to the end of the cul-de-sac and into a grassy area between two houses. Officers observed a gun in his hand. Officers gave numerous commands for him to drop the weapon but he refused to do so. One officer shot at the suspect striking him in the abdomen and chest. David was then transported to 86th Street St. Vincent Hospital by the Carmel Fire Department where he is being treated for his injuries.

This is an on-going investigation and information on charges will be released at a later time.
