On Sunday at approximately 12:45 a.m., a Carmel Police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling east on 116th Street. The motorcycle accelerated to a high rate of speed before crashing near the intersection of 116th Street and River Rd. The Carmel Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team has been called to the scene to assist.
The motorcycle operator, 23 year old Travis Goddard of Fishers was pronounced dead on the scene by Carmel Fire Department medics.
The crash is still under investigation.
