A second vehicle has crashed into Lions Creek Apartments in as many months.

At 6:39 p.m. Friday, police officers from the Noblesville Police Dept. responded to the intersection of Little Chicago and Carrigan roads in reference to a report of a motor vehicle accident. NPD Spokesman Lt. Bruce Barnes said a vehicle that had apparently crashed into a building in the 700 block of Lions Trail. It is the second motor vehicle to impact the Lions Creek Apartment complex as a truck crashed into a portion of the complex on Jan. 24.

Based on preliminary information, Barnes said a 2000 Mazda passenger car, driven by Jordan A. Clements, 18, of Noblesville, was traveling northbound on Little Chicago Road prior to the crash. “Evidence at the scene suggests that Clements may have disregarded the stop sign at Carrigan Road and continued traveling northbound through a grassy area before colliding with the apartment building. The vehicle penetrated the brick exterior of the building and traveled approximately 10 feet inside the vacant apartment,” he said.

Clements was transported to Riverview Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no passengers in the vehicle in Clement’s vehicle and there were no injuries reported from anyone at the apartment complex.

Barnes said an engineering inspection of the building was done to determine if the building was structurally compromised as a result of the accident. An undetermined number of tenants were without power as a result of the crash.

“There has been no determination at this time regarding the cause of the crash. Initial evidence suggests that weather was not a factor,” Barnes said.

Traffic was partially restricted during the investigation and was reopened at approximately 8 p.m. Friday in all directions.
