Yummy fundraiser planned for Orchard Park

If I didn’t know better, I would swear Jennifer Penix and Ann Bernard have super powers. With only two pair of hands between them, they have managed to create the illusion that they are a precision event planning team of twenty. The co-chairs of the 10th annual Taste of Carmel have assembled 40 eateries willing to feed you an unlimited supply of food and drink for just $30. But wait, there’s more. If you buy your tickets in advance at http://tasteofcarmel2013.eventbrite.com the price is slashed to just $25. Unbelievable value in a world of escalating food costs and forgettable entertainment right in the heart of Carmel and the best part; kids win.

The Taste of Carmel is not just a great Thursday evening, March 7, with your spouse, friends or business associates, but a great opportunity to step out and help Orchard Park Elementary PTO. We all know that every school in the Carmel Clay School Corp. is well funded by our tax dollars. And, we can take great pride in the Parent-Teacher Organization tradition which occurs in every school corporation building across Carmel. Each PTO strives to enhance the student educational experience by raising money to fund the extras. In the case of Orchard Park Elementary, they must rely heavily on the entire community as its PTO is unable to call on just its parents for additional resources. So, Taste of Carmel, a promise of unique and gourmet food backed up with 10 years of experience, is their fund-raising solution.

Jennifer and Ann pledge not just food and drink at this adult only event, but a silent auction using the latest smart phone technology for bidding. Items available in the silent auction include several Payton Manning footballs, birthday party packages, golf outings, jewelry, trips, Vera Bradley items and much more. Guests will enjoy a photo booth, caricature artist Richard Morris and Shane Rodimel on the acoustic guitar.

Come join me and 700 other Carmel foodies at the Ritz Charles for an enjoyable evening and lend a helping hand to the students at Orchard Park Elementary School. They hope to raise enough money to add soccer goals to their campus, some unique ORFF instruments to their music department and curriculum programming for their teachers. Put Taste of Carmel on your calendar and come edacious. For more information, contact [email protected].
