Two Noblesville residents were arrested for transporting heroin and cocaine into Hamilton County from Marion County. Brian C. Keith, 44, and Ashley R. Updegraff, 29, both of Noblesville, were arrested by the Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force on Feb. 11.

Both have been preliminarily charged with possession of heroin, a Class D felony, and possession of cocaine, a Class D felony. During the investigation, officers discovered Keith was making numerous weekly trips from Noblesville to Indianapolis to buy heroin and cocaine and transport it back into Hamilton County.

Maj. Aaron Dietz said the task force was continuing to pursue investigative efforts involving those trafficking in these highly addictive and potentially lethal drugs. Crime data supports the availability of these drugs in Hamilton and Boone counties and it continues to have a significant impact on property crimes such as burglaries and thefts occurring in these communities. Anyone wishing to leave an anonymous drug tip may call 571-2545.
