BCSSI Announces February Activities for Seniors

The BCSSI has announced a new list of activities for seniors citizens in Zionsville including art, computer and exercise classes, cards and van trips. Please contact Judy or Kirsten at 317-873-8939 for more information.

Cards, Exercise, Art Classes and Support Groups at the Boys and Girls Club

The Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville on Mulberry Street will offer art classes every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. with local art instructor Shirley Luttrell. Cost is $5 per class. Shirley is happy to work with beginners, intermediate students and any medium; oils, acrylics, watercolors. In addition, there will be Bridge and Euchre every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will also be offering “Fun & Fit for Over Fifty” every Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30. a.m. A support group will be offered for spouses and adult children of seniors on Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be educational presentations and activities to assist caregivers in developing supportive relationships. Computer Class

The Narthex of Zionsville United Methodist Church is hosting computer classes every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The class is for students who have some computer knowledge and are $20. Registration is required and checks can be made payable to ZUMC. For more information or to enroll contact Boone County Senior Services at 317-873-8939 or 765-482-5220.

 

BCSSI Van Trips

There will be two February van trips. On Tuesday Feb. 18 at 9:15 a.m. there will be a Benjamin Harrison Home Tour, and on Friday, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m. there will be a trip to the Tippecanoe Mall in Lafayette, Ind. Attendees must call the BCSSI at 765-482-5520 or 317-873-8949 for more information or to sign up for the events. Vans leave from BCSSI, and transportation fees and meal costs are the responsibility of the attendee.

 

Lunch and Learn

Witham Health Services will be joining the Lunch and Learn on Friday, Feb. 22 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Zionsville Town Hall Community Room. A free lunch will be provided by Witham to the first 30 registrants. Travel Group

The BCSSI will be hosting a trip from May 29-June 4 to Salem and the New England North Shore. Cost is $565 per person based on double occupancy. Single and triple occupancy prices are also available. The trip includes round-trip motorcoach transporation, luggage handling and gratuities with Diamond tours; seven days, six nights lodging; 10 meals; six breakfasts and four dinners; a guided tour of Boston, Concord, Lexington and Salem; a visit to the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, Quincy Marketplace and Cambridge. Payment of $75 deposit per person is due upon signing. Final payment is due March 23. Travel insurance will also be available at separate cost.
