The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the spring Citizen’s Academy.  The Academy meets on Thursday evenings, 6:30p-9:30p, from March 7 to May 23 on the grounds of the Sheriff’s Office in Noblesville.  Participants will experience an overview of general law enforcement training including classes in Law, Traffic Enforcement, Firearms, Special Teams, Driving, Use of Force, Corrections, Investigations, Drug and Alcohol Enforcement, and more.  Most sessions are a combination of classroom and hands-on participation.  Also included is a ride-along with a Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol.

The Citizens’ Academy is designed to promote greater understanding and communications between the public and the law enforcement community as well as chance to meet members of the Sheriff’s Office and discover the many functions in which they are involved.  The Citizen’s Academy is open at no charge to all residents of Hamilton County 18 years of age and older.  For additional information and an application, please contact Deputy Bryant Orem at (317)776-4104 or visit: http://www.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/topic/?topicid=264&structureid=30.  Application should be submitted no later than February 8.
