Family Fun! comes to the Palladium

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra presents Family Fun! at the Palladium, on February 3 at 2pm. On Super Bowl Sunday, this sports-themed concert invites children to sit on stage with the orchestra as they hear excerpts from the world’s great classics.

Family Fun! is an interactive and affordable family concert that few orchestras offer. All ages are invited to sit on the Palladium stage with the musicians to get an up-close look as the CSO performs family classics. The family-oriented programming is designed to allow young children the opportunity to enjoy classical music together with parents, grandparents, and friends in a relaxed environment. Patrons are encouraged to wear their favorite football jerseys, and, following the concert, children can participate in the always-popular Instrument Petting Zoo, allowing them (and adults) to play the instruments they have just heard.

Also featured at the concert will be solo pianist Allison Vickery, the 2012 winner of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition, performing with the full orchestra during Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C Major, No. 21, k. 467.

“This is our signature concert,” says Dr. Alan Davis, President and CEO of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra. “To watch the eyes of young children light up as they experience hearing great music is a magical moment.”

“I’m proud that we’ve developed such an incredibly rich and stimulating musical experience for young listeners,” says Dr. David Bowden, Artistic Director for the Carmel Symphony Orchestra. “Each year, the musicians look forward to our Family Fun! concert. The close interaction between the musician and the children is inspiring.”

Tickets are available by visiting TheCenterPresents.org or by calling the Center’s Box Office at 317.843.3800. Discounts are available for High School students and younger with the five-dollar YouthPASS.
