The Indiana Jazz Educators Association (IJEA) is pleased to announce that one local high school musician has been selected to participate in the 2013 Indiana All-State High School Jazz Band:

Anthony “T.J.” Schaff, drumset (Carmel HS)

To be selected, all students had to complete an audition process which consisted of scales, etudes, and improvisation.

The director for this year’s All-State Jazz Band is Robert Lark, Director of Jazz Studies at DePaul University in Chicago.

The All-State Jazz Ensembles will be performing as part of the Indiana Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2:30pm, at the Allen County Public Library Theatre in Fort Wayne.  The concert is free and open to the general public.
