“At St.Vincent Carmel Hospital, our goal is to provide area residents with the options and the resources for the highest level of care,” said Michael D. Chittenden, president of St.Vincent Carmel Hospital. “We have always had great physicians supporting the needs of our community and that’s why we are delighted to welcome WHA where we can continually expand our services to our female patients.”

St.Vincent Carmel Hospital recently completed a 28,000-square-foot renovation of the rooms and amenities in the maternity program. The renovation included private, spacious bathrooms with decorative tile featuring rain showerheads. Glass doors lead to rooms that are more comfortable for the mother, her partner and family. Family waiting spaces have also been completely renovated with a new fireplace, glass tile mosaic artwork and furniture. Throughout the newly renovated areas, new photography and artwork featuring children and families have been displayed by local artists.

Babies who are born prematurely or need care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) have a quieter place to rest and grow in the new Level III private rooms. The private NICU rooms- which can also accommodate twins and triplets – provide better control of the baby’s environment with less noise and activity, fewer interruptions to sleep, and an atmosphere that is more conducive for improved developmental outcomes.

The 124-bed hospital typically delivers babies from northern Marion County, Carmel, Fishers, Westfield and Zionsville.

St.Vincent Carmel Hospital is a 124-bed, full-service healthcare ministry serving Hamilton County since 1985. The facility features all-private patient rooms, and offers comprehensive services for area residents and surrounding communities. Some of the services include maternity and a newly renovated postpartum unit, emergency, surgical, one of the leading bariatric centers in the country and a 24/7 staffed Level III newborn intensive care unit (NICU). The faith-based health provider also houses the largest Orthopedic Center in Hamilton County.
