The Washington Township Parks & Recreation Department is teaming up with The Hamilton County Parks and the Westfield Parks and Recreation to host its 8th Annual Race to The New Year 5k Run/Walk. The race is held December the 29th and begins at 9:30am. The course winds through scenic Cool Creek Park, along Union Street and finishes at the Cool Creek Nature Center. There will be an awards ceremony with individual awards going to the overall male & female winners and also the top 3 in each individual age group. Refreshments and awards will follow the race in the Cool Creek Nature Center. Two lucky winners will be drawn among all the participants and will receive a full year’s membership to LA Fitness.
Early registration runs through December the 17th and guarantees each participant a race tshirt. The early registration fee is only $20.00. After Dec. 17th the registration fee is $25.00. Children 15 and under are only $15.00 to register. You may register the day of the event beginning at 8:15am.
This year’s race is being sponsored by St. Vincent Carmel Hospital, Ortho Indy, Car X Tire & Auto, Walls Mattress, Mader Design, Cave & Company Printing, Tom Roush Lincoln Mazda, Walker & Associates and Wittler Orthodontics.
