Last week, The Fresh Market announced it is building a new location in Fishers.
The new grocery store will be located at the 116th Street and Cumberland Road intersection, already home to L.A. Fitness, a Chase bank, Rickers BP gas station and more.
There is not a specific target completion date for the new store, but it should open in 2013.
“We are excited about our continued expansion in the Midwest, and in Indiana in particular,” Randy Kelley, senior vice president of real estate and development for The Fresh Market, said in a press release. “We look forward to building on the success of our other locations in the state, where we have enjoyed a strong and loyal customer base, and to providing customers in the Fishers area with the same quality products and excellent customer service.”
Dan Canan, president of the Fishers Chamber of Commerce, said he thinks The Fresh Market brings a greater radius of shoppers than other retail companies might.
“I think it is a good compliment to the community,” Canan said. “I think it’s a very positive development.”
“We have no doubt The Fresh Market will be a very successful Fishers business,” Fishers Town Council Member Pete Peterson said in the release. “We are excited to welcome them to the community.
“I think it’s an indicator that certainly Fresh Market has done their market research and they see that the market in Fishers as being strong or growing,” Canan said, “so, I think that’s a good sign for the economy of Fishers that they have faith in the community. They have faith that their store will be successful here, so, I think that’s a good indicator that Fishers is headed on the right road.”
