I enjoy the Grammar Guy column, and thought I would call out a few pet peeves of my own. First, “It’s so fun.” No, it isn’t. It may be so much fun, or a lot of fun, but it’s so fun calls you out as a duh-huh. Second, luminary vs. luminaria. I really enjoy going out in the Christmas season and driving around neighborhoods looking at decorations and the luminaria lining the drives and walks. Don’t see too many luminaries, though. Finally, my personal favorite, and one misused with complete abandon: “momento” instead of the proper memento. There is momentum, momentous and momentary, but, no momento.
