Tinsel & Tails Holiday Petacular

The Humane Society for Hamilton County will host its seventh annual Tinsel & Tails Holiday Petacular on Nov. 29 at the Ritz Charles, 12156 N. Meridian St.

Tinsel & Tails, one of the humane society’s largest fundraisers of the year, highlights the most touching adoption stories and unforgettable animal survivor tales of 2012. Funds raised will help cover the cost of the thousands of abandoned, unwanted, injured and sick animals that come to the humane society every year.

“Our need has never been greater,” said Rebecca Stevens, Humane Society for Hamilton County executive director. “The economy is still taking its toll on the family pet as the number of surrendered animals continues to rise. Sadly, many of those displaced are senior pets that often need medical care and quickly succumb to illness in a shelter environment. The funds raised at events like Tinsel & Tails are what make it possible for us to give every animal their best possible chance to be rehomed.”

Open to the public, the event includes a reception with hors d’oeuvres, a silent and live auction and dinner followed by a special presentation. Following the presentation, guests are invited to meet the cats and dogs that were highlighted in the presentation. Beyond helping with medical costs, funds raised during the event are also used for everything from life-saving medications and surgeries to vaccinations, heartworm treatments, food and heat for the facility which serves as both the animal control facility for Hamilton County and the Humane Society for Hamilton County.

Tickets to Tinsel & Tails are available for $80 per individual, $310 for a half-table of four, or $620 for a table of eight.
