Kids can shop at Carmel High School

Holiday Secret Shop, formally known as Santa’s Secret Shop, is a student-operated retail lab that sells assorted gifts to children. It has been a tradition at Carmel High School for 35 years. While parents enjoy coffee, their children, ages two to ten, are instantly transported into a holiday wonderland. Kids have the unique and independent opportunity to buy gifts for their loved ones. All gifts, such as jewelry, toys, trinkets, candles, mugs, and other assorted kitchen accessories, are $10 or less! After they pick out their items, cheerful student helpers will wrap and address each present. Then, kids will be walked back to their waiting parents.

DECA is a co-curricular organization that prepares emerging leaders in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, hospitality and tourism. CHS DECA students are mature, respectful, personable, and kind. They operate the shop and help the kids choose the perfect gift for parents, siblings, friends, and teachers.

The Holiday Secret Shop will be open Nov. 26 through Dec. 1. The hours of operation during the week will be 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Also the shop will be open during the high school’s student resource time (SRT) on Nov. 30,from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for all CHS students and staff! When the Holiday Secret Shop is open, the CHS Spirit Shop will also be open for parents while their children shop. Groups can make appointments to visit the shop outside of normal hours.
