Contractors for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) plan to restrict traffic lanes on I-69 this week to perform overhead work on the new flyover ramp to State Road 37 and to relocate two overhead signs.

Southbound I-69 will have a right lane restriction on Tuesday, Nov. 6 and a left lane restriction on Wednesday, Nov. 7 beginning at 10 o’clock both nights and ending by 5 o’clock the following mornings.  The lane restrictions will begin before and end past the northbound flyover bridge to State Road 37.

Northbound I-69 will have a right lane restriction approaching the Exit 205 ramp to 116th Street on Thursday, Nov. 8 beginning at 10 p.m.  Traffic will then be shifted to the right lane approaching State Road 37 as crews restrict the left lane for overhead work on the flyover bridge.  Northbound traffic will be stopped for short periods early Friday morning as overhead signs are moved.  These restrictions are expected to end by 5 a.m.

Northbound I-69 will have a right lane restriction beginning Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 p.m. as crews work overhead on the State Road 37 flyover bridge.  This restriction will end by 5 a.m. Saturday.

Schedules are weather dependent and are subject to change.  Drivers in the area should plan on possible lane restrictions between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. through the week.

Construction on the northbound side of the interchange started in the spring.  Northbound I-69 is currently restricted to two lanes north of Exit 205 as a new two-lane flyover ramp to State Road 37 is constructed.  Milestone Contractors, the state’s contractor for the $18 million interchange improvement project, will begin improvements to the southbound side of the interchange in 2013.
