Disappointed and offended

Editor,

After reading your recent column in response to the preferential debate on living in Carmel versus Indianapolis, I am disappointed and equally offended.

I believe your response is way off base. I am disappointed to read that you have added race as a factor. As I have read all of the articles, the only journalist playing “that card” is you; and a very poor one at that. There was no basis for your comments regarding “playing the race card, slavery, black Americans, a tired act, and the internal struggles the black community faces today.”

I am offended, and I question your journalistic integrity, especially in the role as managing editor. I believe many readers, like me, would’ve been deceived into believing the author was trying to “play that (race) card” if they hadn’t done their homework and read the original articles.

Mr. Fisher, it is because of careless writing and poor journalism tactics, such as you displayed, as one of the factors to why problems around race still exist.
