Gov. Mitch Daniels today joined executives from Bell Techlogix, a privately-held provider of IT services and solutions, to announce the company’s plans to expand its corporate headquarters and operations center here, creating up to 204 new jobs by 2016.
Bell will invest $1.4 million to lease, renovate and equip a 100,000 sq. ft. facility in the Mayflower Business Park at 4400 W. 96th St. The 100,000 sq. ft. facility, of which Bell will occupy 53,000 sq. ft., is expected to be operational by the end of October.
“Central Indiana has become a national leader in the growth of information technology, and here comes another example,” said Daniels.
The company employs approximately 450 Hoosiers at its three Indiana locations, including 200 employees in Indianapolis. Bell has already begun hiring professionals in Indianapolis with skills ranging from call center service desk agents and computer depot personnel to highly skilled IT engineers and architects. The company also plans to fill positions to support Bell’s corporate headquarters, including executive management, sales, marketing, internal IT, human resources and finance.

With roots dating back to the 1950s and a focus on technology spanning more than 25 years, Bell’s founders began as small business entrepreneurs in southern California. By leveraging a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the company has evolved into a comprehensive IT managed services provider with locations throughout the nation and nearly 1,000 clients across multiple industries ranging from midsized enterprises to Fortune 100 companies, as well as K-12 to higher education organizations.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Bell Techlogix, Inc. up to $1,120,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $125,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Carmel also supports the project.
Bell maintains an active commitment to working in the communities and education systems within Indiana, including hosting job fairs, participating in internship programs, donating technology to academic institutions, sponsoring local symposiums and events and is an active participant in the Indiana Business Council. The company has also garnered numerous accolades in recent years, including being a multiple time winner of Apple’s Commitment to Excellence awards and a 2011 recipient of Microsoft’s Operational Excellence Award.
The announcement by Bell, which joins more than 20 other companies that have committed to locating or growing their headquarters in Central Indiana this year, comes a month after the Hoosier State scored national acclaim from CNBC. The news giant named Indiana the fifth most business friendly state in the nation in its “America’s Top States for Business” report in July.
