Maplelawn Farmstead announces cancellation of Hoedown at Maplelawn and Farmstead Follies

The Board of Directors of Maplelawn Farmstead Inc. have cancelled the Hoedown at Maplelawn for Saturday, July 21 and the Farmstead Follies that were to be performed on the next day, Sunday under the big tent due to weather and safety concerns for heat (and heat stroke) and fire. All reservations will be refunded this week. The Maplelawn Board will be deciding whether to reschedule those two events later in the year.

The Maplelawn Board would like to thank those many Maplelawn patrons who had already made reservations for the Hoedown and who were preparing acts for the Follies; we greatly appreciate your support! The Maplelawn Board would also like to thank our year-long event sponsors: The Zionsville Times Sentinel, Key Bank, Akard True Value Hardware, Taylor Oil Company, Zionsville Eyecare, Burrus & Sease, Brown’s on Fifth, and Stacy’s Landscape Maintenance.

Maplelawn just completed a successful exhibit – Aprons: Vintage Kitchen Couture. Summer at Maplelawn – our summer day camp program has begun for one week and will have another session July 30 through August 3. On September 28 will be Movies at Maplelawn with the Haunted Farmstead on October 26 and 27. In November, Maplelawn will present another exhibit – Serious Fun: Board Games of the Great Depression Era.

Maplelawn Farmstead, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that creates experiences that connect people to the rich, rural heritage of the 1930’s Great Depression era on an Indiana family farm.
