This year’s Carmel High School Hall of Fame inductees are Ted Allen and Gregory Lentz. Hall of Fame status is awarded to graduates of CHS who have been out of high school for at least 10 years and have displayed exemplary achievement in the nominees’ area of specialization, have received recognition, honor and awards on the local, regional, national or international level, or have demonstrated service in the community in which they live or have lived.

Allen was inducted for his work as a culinary journalist. He recently hosted “Taste of the NFL, Super Bowl 44,” which benefited food banks in National Football League cities, and for serving as a spokesperson for Dining Out for Life, a nonprofit that raises millions of dollars for HIV/AIDS service organizations since 2007.

Lentz was the 1977 valedictorian of CHS and has since gone to become the vice president and senior loans relationship manager at First Merchants Bank. He has been recognized for his service to the Carmel Dads’ Club, the Carmel Babe Ruth Baseball Organization and the Indiana High School Athletic Association. He had an influential role in the relocation of the Babe Ruth and American Legion baseball programs to Mark Badger Memorial Park and O’Malia Field in 1987.
