Nighttime lane closures on U.S. 31 this week

INDOT logo1The Indiana Department of Transportation plans nighttime closures this week for the right lane of northbound U.S. Highway 31 in preparation for construction of the new 146thStreet interchange.

U.S. 31 lane closures from 136th Street to Greyhound Pass will begin at 9 p.m.  Restrictions will be lifted by 6 a.m. the following morning.

Wednesday night, Walsh Construction, the state’s contractor, will close the right northbound lane to allow crews to apply temporary striping.  Thursday and Friday nights, workers will place temporary barrier wall sections.

This $35.7 million Major Moves project is part of a larger INDOT construction effort to bring U.S. 31 up to freeway standards through Hamilton County.  Graphic representations of the 146th Street interchange can be found at http://www.us31hamiltoncounty.in.gov/st146-151.html.

Off-road bridge work near Keystone Avenue is ongoing.
