‘The Pefume Shop’ auditions Oct. 2 and 4

Auditions for the comedy “The Perfume Shop,”  a new adaptation of “Parfumerie” by E. P. Dowdall, will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 and Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Belfry Theatre, 10690 Greenfield Ave., east of Noblesville off of Ind. 37. Directed by Betty Lou Kyle, “The Perfume Shop” is based on Miklos Laszlos’ play “Parfumerie”, best known as the source for  three successful movies: “Shop Around the Corner,” “In the Good Old Summertime,” “You’ve Got Mail” and the popular Broadway musical “She Loves Me.”

Five men are needed for roles ranging from 20’s-30’s, one 60-year-old, and one male in his late teens or early 20’s. There are also roles are available for three women, ages 25-30, middle-aged and one motherly type. Additional roles for various ages are needed for walk-on and speaking parts. Readings will be from the script. Performances of “The Perfume Shop” will run for three weekends from Nov. 25 to Dec. 11 on the Belfry Stage. For further details, call 867-0409 or 773-2107, or visit the theatre website at www.thebelftheatre.com.
