The Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts will be the backdrop for a radio broadcast of NPR’s “From the Top” on April 26. Then, less than three weeks later, PBS film crews will capture a live May 12 concert featuring Michael Feinstein. Both events will include live audiences. Tickets for the two separate performances go on sale Monday, March 14. Purchase tickets online at www.TheCenterForThePerformingArts.org, in person at the Palladium box office or by phone at 317-843-3800.

“These are extraordinary events, marking the first-ever television and radio programs produced inside the Palladium,” said Steven B. Libman, President and CEO of the Center for the Performing Arts. “The entire country will have the opportunity to experience the Palladium. We want to nurture and encourage opportunities that bring the world to Central Indiana – whether that’s live and in-person or directly into people’s living rooms.”

“Michael Feinstein: The Sinatra Project” concert on May 12 at 7:30 p.m. is in addition to Feinstein’s sold out May 11 concert at the Palladium. “Michael Feinstein: The Sinatra Project” will focus on what is often dubbed the Sinatra Circle: performers, songs and the era in which Frank Sinatra reigned supreme. Backed by a 17-piece band, Feinstein will lead a musical exploration into how Sinatra influenced Rosemary Clooney, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald. Feinstein, named as the Center’s Artistic Director in 2009, is a five-time Grammy nominee. The concert will serve as pledge-drive programming on PBS member stations around the country later in 2011.

“From the Top” on April 26 at 7 p.m. is a showcase for America’s best young musicians. The award-winning NPR program shares the stories and performances of pre-collegiate musicians. Hosted by Christopher O’Riley, the program reaches more than 700,000 listeners each week. Over the years, “From the Top” has featured prominent guest artists on its radio and television programs including Yo Yo Ma, Hilary Hahn, Bobby McFerrin, Midori, Denise Graves, Béla Fleck and Joshua Bell. Printing Partners is proud to sponsor the “From the Top” performance at the Palladium.
