I would like to give a big shoutout to the staff of City Hall in Westfield. I moved to Westfield nine months ago and have called City Hall numerous times with questions about everything from getting an extra trash can (then having it removed), sewer bill questions, restaurant questions, Grand Park questions – you name it, I think I’ve asked it.
And the helpfulness, professionalism and friendliness of every single person with whom I’ve interacted has been pretty unbelievable. The phone is answered promptly, and the staff goes the extra mile every single time.
I even was able to pick up the phone and call to schedule a meeting with Mayor (Andy) Cook – just walked right in and had a nice meeting. That was at the suggestion of a new-resident information packet I’d been sent by the city.

Today, I called City Hall and reached Jen Davis who, due to the coronavirus, was working from home. It didn’t slow her down a bit. She gave me the phone number to call to sign up for the mayor’s video updates (within a half-hour an update hit my inbox), and she provided links I could print for absentee voting and property tax bill payments.
I don’t think there’s a question Mayor Cook’s staff can’t answer. For sure, they’ll always go the extra mile to try!
