Whitestown extends facilities closures

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Whitestown has announced that town facilities will remain closed until at least May 1.

Facilities that will be closed include the Municipal Complex, all facility rentals and public meetings in the gymnasium and Town Hall and all Whitestown public parks – including playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, corn hole lanes, shelters and restrooms.

Essential work will still continue, and town staff is available via phone or email.

“We are continuing to develop innovative solutions to efficiently manage our town government while also doing our part to flatten the curve and practice social distancing,” Whitestown Town Council President Clinton Bohm stated. “Whitestown residents can rest assured that town operations are still continuing and economic development is alive and well in our community.”

The Town Council meeting scheduled on April 8 will take place as scheduled at 7 p.m. with modifications to allow for social distancing, according to a press release. The meeting will be live-streamed on the town’s YouTube page at www.youtube.com/user/townofwhitestown.
