Hamilton Southeastern Schools will close for students March 16 through April in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19. The district plans to use a combination of eLearning days and the 20 waiver days recently granted by Gov. Eric Holcomb.

Students will be in school March 13 for a regular school day.

HSE released the following statement:

We recognize how challenging this situation is for some of our families, students and staff. This decision was made after consultation with Hamilton County health officials and other Hamilton County schools.

We are finalizing plans to support our families during the closure and will communicate more information in the coming days.

Thank you for your support as we all work together to do what is best for our students, staff and families during this unprecedented health crisis.

As of press time, there were no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hamilton County.
