Osborne Trails, at 193rd Street and Spring Mill Rd., opened its model homes March 7. The 490-home community is designed for active adults 55 and older.

The community will feature a 9,000-square-foot clubhouse with an activities area, a bar, a chef kitchen, hobby areas, a fitness facility and other amenities. A covered patio, fireplace and pool will be behind the clubhouse.

There will be six lakes throughout the community with a fishing pier, wooded areas and 3 miles of trails.

Division President Craig Jensen said all lawn mowing, irrigation, mulching and weeding will be provided.

“(Residents) maintain the exterior of the homes themselves, but you don’t have to do the yardwork or snow removal,” Jensen said. “Our goal here with Osborne Trails was to make this very much a feeling of what we experience here with Indiana lake life.”

Nine floorplans are availabile.
“We have winter, (so) we have to have room for boots and coats,” Jensen said. “A lot of active adult homes you go to in Florida, you don’t have to worry about that because you’re warm. We need a little more storage in the northern climate here, which is one of the things we take into consideration.”

Homes range from 1,200 to 2,500 square feet and $250,000 to $400,000. Bonus rooms and bedrooms can be added as well as a basement or an upstairs level.
