1205 Distillery to open later this year in downtown Westfield

Westfield soon will be home to 1205 Distillery’s tasting room and cocktail lounge. Owner Nolan Hudson plans to open what will be the businesse’s second location at 120 Camilla Ct. Dec. 1.

Hudson, a Carmel resident, said he and his team knew they wanted to launch in Hamilton County. When Westfield’s former Economic Development Director Matt Skelton showed Hudson a building in downtown Westfield, Hudson immediately knew it was the right place for the distillery to grow.

“They showed me around the city and showed me some buildings we could potentially open up with. The first building they showed me, I fell in love with it,” Hudson said. “I knew it was where our second location had to be.”

Hudson said the Westfield location is rustic and has an open concept with a large garage door.

“It was exactly what we were looking for,” Hudson said. “The location we are in now is smaller and kind of closed off. We really like the open garage door look, and we love the location right off Union and 32, so you can’t get much of a better location.”

1205 Distillery began operations at its first location, 636 Virginia Ave. in Indianapolis, in November 2014. It opened its tasting room at the same location in October 2017.

At 1,700 square feet, the Westfield location is more than double the size of the original location. Hudson said 1205 Distillery will continue its same business model and create cocktails exclusively with the distillery’s liquor.

“We also are going to have a non-alcoholic cocktail menu and we are going to have select, local beer and wine,” Hudson said.

The new location doesn’t have a kitchen, but Hudson plans to partner with local restaurants for food delivery and catering options.
