Two individuals are in serious condition after a late-night crash on Ind. 37 in Noblesville.

At approximately 1:49 a.m. May 23, police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the 14500 block of Ind. 37 after a report was made about a crash involving a rolled-over vehicle.

Police said based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, it appears that a 2007 Hyundai Tribune was traveling southbound on Ind. 37 at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The driver has been identified as Christian C. Cooper, 28, Noblesville, and a passenger was identified as Cheyenne G. DeMoss, 21, Atlanta. Both were trapped in the vehicle when officers and firefighters arrived and said the vehicle had rolled several times before coming to a stop.

Cooper and DeMoss were transported by ground ambulance to IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis in serious condition. Police said both appear to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the southbound lanes of Ind. 37 were restricted between 146th and 141th Street until approximately 5:30 a.m.

Police said investigators have determined that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash and charges will be forthcoming.
