15-year-old student arrested for NHS threat

Noblesville Police have confirmed that a 15-year-old Noblesville High School student is the suspect behind a racially driven threat found on a bathroom wall at the school earlier today.

“After learning of the threat, investigators, school resource officers, and school officials worked diligently to identify the source of the threat,” a statement from the Noblesville Police Dept. read. “A person of interest was quickly identified and detained. As the investigative process evolved, the person of interest was later determined to be the suspect. The suspect has been identified as a 15-year-old male student of Noblesville High School.

“The Noblesville Police Dept. and Noblesville School Corp. take each and every allegation of a threat seriously. Once information of the today’s threat was reported, school officials and police officers immediately initiated extra safety precautions to ensure the security of everyone involved. In addition, and as a result of this collaborative effort, the suspect was quickly identified, and the threat assessment was reduced accordingly.”

The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office has not publicly released the name of the student, charges, or a petition alleging the juvenile as delinquent.
