Lawrence  police officer injured in crash

After a crash early Wednesday morning, Lawrence police officer was sent to a local hospital in a neck brace.
Injuries are not life-threatening, and the Lawrence Fire Dept. posted the following statement at approximately 5:30 a.m. on its Facebook page:
“Please keep our city’s injured police officer in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers from injuries sustained after being struck by another driver early this morning.”
 The accident reportedly occurred in the 4800 block of Franklin Road.
